The Therapeutic Riding Center of Israel, situated in Tel Mond, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of disabled individuals through a unique therapeutic and recreational method: Animal Assisted Therapies AAT. The Center was established in 1986 by a group of dedicated volunteers. After years of hard work and thanks to the financial support from friends of the center, a new stateoftheart indoor facility was opened in 2001. Today, over 1800 people participate in our therapeutic programs. Along with therapeutic riding lessons, outdoor riding trails and a dogassisted therapy program, the center offers in cooperation with the Israeli Sports Academy, Wingate, professional courses and training in AAT.The staff includes therapeutic riding instructors, physio therapists, psychologists, a social worker, dog trainers, occupational therapists, medical advisors and over 300 dedicated volunteers. For our programs with the Arab communities we have developed an expert team which consists of an equal number of Israeli Jewish and Arab professionals including social workers, physiotherapist, senior therapeutic riding instructors, educational advisors and many volunteers .This team has successfully cooperated in the Israeli Arab therapeutic project for the last three years.
